Sony Cybershot DSC H20 Review
The Sony Cybershot DSC H20 is one of a number of digital cameras launched in the spring of 2009 offering some extra zoom inside a relatively compact body. You only need to look back about two years to see that the 10x optical zoom Sony has built into the Cybershot DSC H20 was about the maximum you could find on any digital camera. Now that the most advanced models can offer up to 24x zoom a gap has opened in the market. This is being filled by these smaller cameras offering what was not so long ago considered to be maximum zoom.
When it comes to the zoom available you have extra options with the Cybershot DSC H20. If you are planning to make smaller prints, you can reduce the amount of megapixels you are shooting at from the maximum 10. This allows additional zoom to become available. At its smallest resolution up to 57x zoom becomes available to you. On top of this you can also opt to buy conversion lenses to increase the telephoto or wide angle capacity of the lens. The lens comes with a 58mm thread for fitting a conversion lens via a lens adapter or for using filters.
You have the choice of using the Cybershot DSC H20 as a point and shoot camera or you can opt to use the manual exposure mode to give you more control over the way your final photographs will look. When you place the camera in manual mode you gain access to shutter speeds between 30 and 1/2000 seconds and aperture sizes between f/3.5 - 8 (wide) f/4.4 - 10 (tele).
Sony Cybershot DSC H20 ReviewAs I mentioned above there have been a number of advances in the last two years when it comes to length of lens. This is the same with video modes. The Cybershot DSC H20 is capable of shooting High Definition movies. One area where this camera has the edge over the majority of other digital cameras is that it is able to record sound in stereo. You can also apply zoom while you are shooting movies.
Sony has included image stabilisation, face detection and a smile shutter. These three features are almost commonplace on digital cameras, especially with this length of lens. Also included is a 3 inch LCD screen, although you need to make do without a viewfinder.
When it comes to picture quality I had few complaints. The extra physical size of the lens found on this type of camera tends to make picture quality more standard and there is little to choose between different cameras. The Cybershot DSC H20 is able to handle most photo opportunities well and it can also take a good macro shot for close up subjects. Compared to other brands I felt the colours were a little subtler. How strong you like the colour to be in a photograph is something of a matter of taste, but this does help to create a difference between the cameras in this niche.
The cameras all look a little different to each other as well. I like the design of this camera. It is certainly compact and the unfussy style with a matt black finish suggests a well made camera with a touch of quality.
Cameras like the Sony Cybershot DSC H20 are often marketed as good choices for travel and holiday. This is because you get the extra lens power, but there is no large, bulky camera to lug around with you. So if you are planning a holiday for the summer of 2009 take a close look at this camera.

Sony KDL32V5810 Review
Almost everybody watches television. And if you are part of this considerable majority you might find yourself entertaining the possibility of replacing your old standard projection television and upgrading to the world of high definition. The upgrade is not a hard jump to make, since the televisions aren't all that much more expensive than standard televisions of a comparable size and most superstores and specialty stores rarely even carry standard televisions anymore. You might start with Sony, given that they are a respected manufacturer of high tech electronics, which include high definition televisions. If you are searching you might type in Sony KDL32V5810.
This will likely yield very specific results of one type of television that Sony makes. More specifically, this television is part of the Bravia line and is one of the highest rated televisions on the HD market for many different reasons.
The most prolific of these being their commitment to "going green." They have designed the line of Bravia televisions to be as economically friendly as any production of televisions has been prior to them.
Sony KDL32V5810 ReviewFor starters, the Bravia line has committed itself to energy saving technology. Unlike any television that Sony has released prior to it, the Bravia televisions have certain settings to save you money and keep from simply wasting energy. One of these settings is a backlight sensor that keeps your television producing the optimal amount of projecting light for the current light settings of the room that it's in. This means, you are only using the amount of projection that you actually need, saving you both energy and the cost of that energy.
Another cool eco-friendly feature is the power saving function based on the televisions activity. This means that if you do nothing with your television set for a couple of hours, it will shut itself off to save power. Actually, it goes more into a sleep setting much like your PC. This means that you can easily refresh the screen to what you were watching. This setting is effective for those who leave a good bit and are forgetful with turning things off. Imagine the money that could be saved if a TV could turn itself off.
Other features of this incredible 32" television include 140 free satellite radio stations that come standard with the purchase of the TV. Which means that you can appreciate the vast array of music genres and talk shows happening 24/7 through your powerful television speakers. But that's not all.
Imagine if your PC and your television could communicate ideas without wires. Some people think that this is just ludicrous, but this Bravia television can very literally communicate with your PC and pull up pictures, movies, and whatever else you wish to be able to view from your high definition screen. Of course, this will not work with all PCs, but if your PC is DNLA-enabled you can access this impressive feature. For the record, many recent PC models have this feature, so if your PC is recent, you likely have this ability.
This is just one television, but its one television that will save you money and go above and beyond what normal televisions claim to do. If you are on the market for a new television, I urge you to consider the Bravia line. Remember: Sony KDL32V5810.

Sony 3D Camera - Best Features Review
The best thing when buying a 3D Sony camera is that you do not have to be a professional photographer to use it, or produce great pictures.
The first feature in this Sony 3D feature review is the 3D panorama capability of the Sony Cyber Shot! This capability made it a 3D camera, without this feature theTX9 would have been a very good 2D digital camera.
Because the camera has only one lens, unlike the Fujifilm 3D W3 Camera which has two lenses, the only way it can produce a 3D image is when it takes short panoramic clips.
Sony 3D Camera - Best Features ReviewWhat happens when you press the Sony TX9 button and sweep the camera sideways in a panoramic motion, is that it will record thousands of frames each sees your object in a slightly different angle. The Sony processor takes all those images and combines them together digitally as 3D clips.
The second feature you may probably love in the Sony TX9 is the back LCD screen that is capable to show you all the 3D clips, in bright vivid colors crystal clear. But what will knock all your friends is that they will see them selves in 3D and without the need for special 3D glasses.
This feature promises the person holding the Sony 3D camera to be the center of the party, as everyone will want to gather and see 3D live without any 3D glasses (nor active and nor red and blue glasses).
Those features make the TX9 a fun 3D camera, and puts Sony up front of the 3D technology leaders. Other features you will find in the Sony TX9 are features they have in their 2D cameras too. Those are photo modes which makes the Sony a flashy gadget able to help any one take the best pictures.
The Sony 'Smile Shutter' technology is a sneaky little mode that enables you to bypass the most frustration feelings in picture taking. The feeling you point at a smiling friend or child, you imagine you get a great shot, with a wide smile, only to see after you press the button that you just missed it by a fraction of a second only to capture a dull face with a blank look on it.
Well forget all about that! The new Sony TX9 Camera Smile Shutter technology that captures a smile the moment it happens.
Before you chose the Sony TX9 as your new 3D camera, see all the features and price options and discounts available for it.

Sony CyberShot TX7 Review
Today we're looking at one of the hottest cameras announced early January at the annual CES event. It came from the Sony booth and is part of the T series family which are the ultra compact point and shoot cameras. Characteristics of the CyberShot T series is that they are all high end cameras with a thin body and a sliding cover in front of the Carl Zeiss lens. They also wear a heavy price-tag and unfortunately the camera we're discussing today is no different. With a price-tag of 0 and a 2010 February release date, I'm of course talking about the Sony CyberShot TX7.
What's in the box
The CyberShot TX7 is packed like you're used to with Sony products. The packaging is very small and has the essentials printed on it. Surprisingly the blue version is shown on all boxes, it's not dependent on the color of the model inside. The first things you're going to see are the manual, a registration paper and a advert for additional accessories including the party-shot dock. After that you finally get to see the camera you've been reading so much about. The Sony TX7 immediately draws attention to itself for its slim and premium design, more on that later. Sony was quite generous on the cable side of things. You get an AC cable for charging, a USB cable and a Stereo audio cable for connecting your dock with a stereo system, but HD people will mention that sound can be transferred through a HDMI cable so this particular cable will probably not be used much.
Sony CyberShot TX7 ReviewAn HDMI cable is absent so you will have to buy one of those if you want to connect your camera directly to your tv. Also absent is a DC cable, so the dock can't be used as a charger right out of the box, I was a little disappointed by that. And I have to say I was moderately surprised that a wristband and an Exmor R mention were attached to the camera right out of the box. After removing both I was all ready to insert the included battery (a really small battery, new generation not found in the previous T cameras) and a SD memory card. Yes The Sony CyberShot TX7 is the first to support not only memory pro duo but also SD and SDHC.
There was one more thing in the box. A little pen you can control the touchscreen with. I don't think anybody will want to use it but it deserves a mention nevertheless for the fans. One circumstance the pen can really shine is when you're using the drawing features on the camera. And that's all you will find in the box. Apart from an HDMI cable and a DC cable, pretty much everything you can wish for is there.
Design
The first thing you're going to notice when glancing at the TX7 is the slim aluminum design. Its all brushed aluminum and with the lens cover up, the only two things that pop are the Sony and CyberShot logos. Everything that could possibly distract you from the minimalistic design are hidden behind the lens cover. It's interesting to see that Sony has opted to change some of the little body features that the TX1 and T900 had. For one the Sony logo is now in the middle and the CyberShot name has been removed from the cover to the lower body. Also gone is the curve in the lens cover which made the older models look like the cover was actually going all the way to the back of the device. With the cover down things still look relatively clean. The lens is on the left side with the flash right beside it. The stereo microphones are placed slightly to the right.
Moving to the back. It's almost all display, edge to edge. There are almost no buttons as the camera is controlled by the 3.5" touchscreen. Sony has done a terrific job getting rid of the wide edges around the screen. On the right edge they have placed a small metal ring where you can attach your wrist band to. Compared to previous T series cameras the metal ring is now really small which is great. Some people might prefer the longer wider wristband attachment though because it allowed them to hold their thumb on it to get that extra stability. Sony also added one extra button which is a dedicated Movie/photo button. Besides that you get the same buttons that TX1 users have. The on/off button (you can also turn on the device by sliding the lens cover), the shutter release, a play button for showing your photos and last but not least a zoom rocker.
I do have one remark about the design: Why so much technical branding? Beside the lens Sony printed a lot of technical terms some of which we didn't even understand. On the top it says: HDavchd, which is one of the video formats it can record to and just above the touchscreen you will be reminded that this camera has the new Exmor R sensor. Maybe they added the info to help impulsive buyers. The house dad that bought a new camera because it looked shiny and then comes home and says: 'look dear, I bought this camera which has an Exmor R and a optical steady shot. I guess it's really good.'
Yeah well don't always judge a book by its covers. Luckily the branding isn't that annoying especially when you compare it the amount of every other camera on the market. But I would applaud the company that manages to release a camera without any branding (apart from company logo and camera series). Maybe it's just impossible because of the rights and patents or something.
The overall design of the Sony CyberShot TX7 is amazing. It's looks so clean for a digital camera. Believe me this camera will turn heads and people won't immediately recognize it as a digital camera. Which is great because the point and shoot products and SLRs are not known for their design. Also think of the benefits like when you want to take pictures of your high school sweetheart before you actually asked her out or something like that.
Ease of use
For this part of the review I wanted not only my opinion but also those of a few people around me. But first I want to mention that I quickly found the patterns in the controls which made it an easy ride for me. On the left and right side you see a lot of icons indicating modes that are active at that particular moment. For example when you've activated the panorama mode a little icon on the left side will notify you of this. If you want to change to a different mode simply click on the panorama logo and select the mode that best suits your needs. Options are: twilight (6 shots becoming 1, ideal for low light), 10fps burst mode (10 shots in a second, ideal for fast moving objects), Panorama (sweep to make, ideal for landscapes) and HDR mode (2 pictures with different settings, ideal for high contrast photos).
The Sony TX7 perfectly implemented this system in all of its controls. Click on the timer to set a timer, click on the menu button to access the preferences etc. For me at first I was skeptical of the new dedicated movie/photo button. I thought it was a waste of space as you can also switch modes using the touchscreen. But as I started shooting photographs and movies I found myself reaching for the button a lot. It's just a whole lot easier and quicker somehow to use the physical button for switching between the video and photo functionality.
Sony has done a great job with the TX7 on the ease of use department. The buttons on the left side and right side aren't just buttons, they're also indicators of the modes and settings you have selected for that particular shot. The dedicated buttons (shutter, zoom, video/photo and show gallery) are really the bare essentials and things you always want to have in reach. Not everything is perfect though. For one the touchscreen is good but not great. The iPhone will beat it with its capacitive touchscreen and multi-touch. And secondly there's no way to see which settings you have used once the photo is taken. It would be great if you could hit the little info button and get all the information you got while you were taken the picture.
Now I showed the camera to a couple of passers by, you know mom, grandma, aunt, and asked them for their honest opinion. They all said that the camera was very easy to use. The icons were clear and the few buttons made the Sony TX7 one of the few cameras that don't intimidate the users. Unlike the Panasonic Lumix TS1, which rumors say scared Bill Gates once. So it seems that the device is easy to use for both tech geeks like myself and regular folks.
Specs and features
The Sony Cybershot TX7 comes with all the latest technology from Sony. The modes includes: smile mode (camera takes a photo when subject smiles), face detection, panorama, 10fps burst, twilight and much more. The auto mode is going to be the mode most users leave it at. In that mode the camera automatically detects whether you're attempting a macro shot, twilight or any other shot. It also knows when it's on a tripod, which is really cool.
Image quality
Overall the pictures this point and shoot can produce are quite good. With its wide angle lens (25mm) landscapes photos are a please to make and look at. But I did notice a touch of softness in the edges. And because the camera tries to keep noise down, some sharpness goes lost in the process. Colors are realistic but some users may not like it because they aren't really as vivid as some other compacts on the market. But for me I prefer a more realistic look to the "Disney" feel that has become really popular these days.
The panorama shots are great, a real plus. They always work, I've shot 10 so far and all 10 were flawless. Of course sometimes a small stitching error is made but given the ease of use I can hardly complain. Twilight mode is another thing users may want to experiment with. In this mode the camera takes 6 shots and compares them to create the ultimate photo. It works because in this mode low light pictures are considerably sharper and have less noise. HDR mode is the last one I'm going to talk about in this review.
Here the camera attempts to make a photo with lots of counter light. Imagine a tree with the sun behind it shining in your camera. In a normal situation the tree will be black with a big yellow dot behind it, right? Well in HDR mode the camera attempts to photograph the tree without any loss of tree details. So instead of a black tree, you get a brown tree with some nice textures on it. Surprisingly this mode works outstanding. I say surprisingly because these types of shots could only be managed my 00+ SLR cameras in the past, that is until today because the Sony TX7 handles them with ease.
Conclusion
Sony has delivered a stunning camera with the release of the Cybershot TX7. It's a very compact device that you can take with you everywhere. It looks great from every angle and most people seem to agree because this camera is a real head turner. The touchscreen is pretty responsive (almost iPhone like, but not quite) and the different modes and options are easy to find. So the camera is very easy to use. Picture quality is good but not SLR like. The image can be a bit soft but the TX7 does a great job keeping noise away and making really good photos in a very short time. Video recording of this cam is superb. It's the best I've ever seen and I still can't believe all that is coming from such a small device.
So I recommend the Sony Cybershot TX7 to people who want a good looking small compact camera that takes really good pictures. You won't be disappointed, just don't expect SLR quality.

Sony Ericsson C902 Review - Choosing a High Quality Camera Phone
If you're looking for a high quality camera phone, you definitely want to look at the Sony Ericsson C902. With two phones and 5.0 megapixels, you can hardly complain. With the new PhotoFlash technology that Sony has included in this new model, you can have great pictures no matter where you are. Many camera phones don't even have flash capabilities which makes it difficult when you try to take pictures in dim light or at nighttime and your cell phone is the only camera you have handy.
Sony Ericsson has specifically designed the phones in the "C" class or cybershot phones to be high quality phones. For those who are looking for a music phone, you need to turn to the "W" series and understand that the quality in that series is in the music rather than in the camera. For a high quality camera phone, you want to purchase the Sony Ericsson C902, the newest of the cybershot phones. At the present time, both the C702 and the C902 are in the prototype stage, but you can feel safe ordering either model because of the reputation that Sony Ericsson has.
In spite of not knowing everything about the Sony Ericsson C902 because it hasn't arrived throughout the world, the Sony name should give you the confidence to know that each series of Sony phones has a particular feature that is of higher quality than another. When it comes to the "C" series, the quality is in the camera or cameras as the case may be. The Sony Ericsson has two cameras hidden underneath the lid, one of which can be operated without opening the lid. This particular phone is connected to the video functionality of the phone more than for still pictures.
Sony Ericsson C902 Review - Choosing a High Quality Camera PhoneWhen it comes to quality, you can be assured the Sony Ericsson C902 will provide each user with high quality picture and video capturing. Sony understands that sometimes you need to capture an event when you only have your mobile phone with you. Unless you have a high quality camera phone, you can lose some of the clarity and sharpness that you want in the picture. Any Sony Ericsson C902 review will provide the information that you need to make a decision and you need to compare the features to that of the K850, the C902 predecessor.
Whether you are a frequent user of the camera features on your mobile phone, you certainly want to know that if you should need your phone's camera your pictures or videos will be sharp and clear. With the Sony Ericsson C902 you don't have to worry if you will be able to see the faces in your pictures or videos. As soon as you find mobile phone deals, you want to order your Sony Ericsson C902 before everyone else grabs one first. Choose the best camera phone on the market if you want assurance your pictures will be crystal clear.

Sony DSC-HX5V 10.2 MP Digital Camera Review (10x Optical Zoom)
If you someone (like myself) who are just sick of the flat features on those mini compact digital cameras but still are not willing to lug a gigantic DSLR camera with you when you are vacation, you just have to get your hands on the new Sony DSC-HX5V digital camera. While still maintaining a relatively compact size, this model has managed to pack in a whole host of features not found on many compact models. On top of that, it has a blazing fast performance to boot.
The Sony DSC-HX5V comes with a 10 mega-pixel image sensor and a lens with a 25-250mm focal length. On the back you will find a huge 3-inch LCD screen for reviewing your videos and photos. In terms of shutter speed, the range starts from 1/1600 of a second to 30 seconds. This model can also record full HD videos at 1080p.
The Sony DSC-HX5V also scores pretty well in the design department with its elegant all black casing. It measures at 4.1 x 1.1 x 2.3 inches in dimensions and weighs just 6 ounces. This camera would easily fit into your bag or coat pocket without being too obstructive. All the buttons and controls are intuitively laid out and was pretty straightforward to use.
Sony DSC-HX5V 10.2 MP Digital Camera Review (10x Optical Zoom)The highlights of this camera would definitely have to be in its features and performance. One of my favorite features on it is the Intelligent Sweep Panorama mode that lets you take panorama shots with a press of the button. All you need to do is press the shutter button and sweep the camera across the area that you wish to capture and the camera automatically creates a panoramic image out of the shoot. No stitching or editing is needed.
The videos and photos taken on the Sony DSC-HX5V was very good overall especially for a camera of its size and class. It was also extremely fast with a shutter lag time of only 0.4 seconds and takes just 1.8 seconds from start up to take your first shot. It also has a great shot-to-shot time of just 1.5 seconds. These figures leave many of its competitors in the dust. All-in-all, the Sony DSC-HX5V is a great compact camera model for anyone who loves to take great photos and to have more control in their photographic experience. At the time of writing, it is selling for just around 9 per unit, which is a great deal for a camera of this stature.

Sony Cybershot DSC W270 Review
The Sony Cybershot DSC W270 is a mid range digital camera. This is true both in terms of features and also in terms of price. At around 27mm wide by my measurements there are a lot of smaller cameras out there and while the Cybershot DSC W270 will fit into larger pockets it looks noticeably larger than the more slimline models.
When it comes to features this is a point and shoot camera, but it does have one or two extra controls that set it apart from cameras at the cheaper end of the market. There are plenty of megapixels, with 12 squeezed onto the sensor. In fact if you blow photos up to a very large size you begin to notice one or two grainy sections creeping into the shots and you wonder if Sony has been a bit ambitious trying to fit so many pixels into such a small space.
The lens offers 5x zoom and has wide angle capabilities. One advantage of the extra megapixels is that extra zoom becomes available to you if you reduce the resolution (number of megapixels) you are shooting at. If you do this you get the added benefit of being able to fit more images onto your memory card. Don't forget that 3 or 4 megapixels is plenty if all you are looking to do is make 6 x 4 inch prints of your photos.
Sony Cybershot DSC W270 ReviewOne downside I often see of a wide angle lens is a loss of picture sharpness when the zoom is not being used at all. This is true of the Cybershot DSC W270. For snapshot sized prints this should not prove to be much of a problem as the loss of sharpness only starts to become apparent as you increase print size.
As is becoming more prevalent Sony has included a High Definition movie mode. This is handy if you like to take the odd video clip with your digital camera, but be aware the quality of the footage and the audio does not measure up to better quality camcorders.
In case you have a problem holding the camera rock steady when taking a shot Sony has built in image stabilisation. The LCD screen is 2.7 inches in size. For close up work the minimum focusing distance is 10cm. The majority of digital cameras can focus from closer in than this, so if you are planning to really get in close for a number of shots you may well find this proves to be a drawback.
To my mind features such as face detection and intelligent auto do not offer that much more than the automatic mode you find on most cameras. Still anything that gives a small improvement in the quality of your photos is worth having on board. There is a smile shutter mode too. When you turn on this feature the Cybershot DSC W270 will automatically fire off a shot if it notices someone is smiling. Only you can tell how much use you are likely to get from this feature. Of more use to you may be the ability to adjust the power of the flash unit if you feel an extra boost is required from time to time.
When it comes to picture quality the Sony Cybershot DSC W270 lacks a bit of razzmatazz, but then again it is only a snapshot camera and if you are that worried about picture quality then be prepared to pay substantially more and upgrade to a better lens and a greater array of manual exposure controls. In my view there are better compact cameras around, but there is nothing especially wrong with this camera.

Sony TX10 Review - What to Expect From This Waterproof Camera
It was initially announced for launching on March 2011 but was moved for one more month. Now that the Sony Cybershot DSC-TX10 is finally out in the market, it looks like buyers will face another hurdle as majority of TX10 camera colors have limited stocks left in online stores. Some say the Japan tsunami has affected the number of electronic products coming from the devastated country.
In this article, I will give you a review of the Cybershot TX10 camera so you can decide if you'd rather buy it now before stocks run out or just wait for the cameras Sony has yet to release.
Slim Form Factor
Sony TX10 Review - What to Expect From This Waterproof CameraIf you are familiar with a lot of Sony cameras, you might already know that the TX series models are known for their sleek and stylish form factor - one that you can easily slip in and out of your pocket for spur-of-the-moment shots. I personally prefer these types of cameras than heavy, bulky DSLRs.
Better Picture Quality
You'll be surprised with the picture quality too. While it may not have all the bells and whistles of a DSLR, Sony claims that the light sensitivity of their cameras this year has greatly improved, thanks to the Exmor-R technology that captures more light than conventional CMOS sensors. In other words, expect sharper images even on low light environments.
3D, HD Movie, Panoramic Shots, and a lot more features
Yes, you're reading it right. The Sony TX10 is capable of taking 3D pictures using only one lens. Just follow the on-screen instructions to help you take three-dimensional images. Obviously, you will need a 3D TV to better appreciate your shots.
You get to enjoy recording in full high definition videos too - and by full, I mean 1080i resolution. This is probably the most future-proof point-and-shoot camera today. The popular Sweep Panorama feature of Sony cameras is also included for easier capturing of panoramic shots.
For those who enjoy the outdoors, this camera is highly recommended as it is freezeproof, shockproof and waterproof. You can literally take it anywhere without having to worry about where you place it. While some older TX versions are also great for extreme outdoor use, the TX10 simply has better protection - up to 16 feet of waterproofing and it can survive falls from nearly 6 feet.
Pros and Cons
So far I've talked only about the features. But the more important question is, is it worth upgrading to TX10? User reviews have been generally mixed on this one.
On one hand, users reported a more snappy user interface and a more responsive touch screen. But on the other hand, some people expressed disappointment when they found out some missing features.

Sony Cybershot DSC-S950 Review
I have many good things to say about this camera, but I would rather start out with the negativity and finish this review on a good note. Let me start off by saying that when I first received my camera the flash bulb was not working at all. This was quite frustrating considering this should not be a problem that is overlooked by the quality control department. Rather, they should have found it to begin with as I doubt it was damaged in the shipping process. However, I was able to get it replaced and was able to keep this one until the new one arrives.
With that said, I am very impressed with the picture quality that this camera is offering. When it came to taking indoor pictures, I decided to test it out by using an automatic shutter mode and taking a picture of a five dollar bill. I made sure that the was totally within the frame. When reviewing the picture, I found that you could actually still read the "United States of America" very clearly. When it came to the outdoors, it did not disappoint either. I used the 4x zoom and took a picture at a long distance of some trees. I found that you could see the trees and details much more clearly in the pictures than I could with my own eyes. Just to clarify, I do not have bad vision either.
There are some other issues that the camera has that I do not like very much. I found that when you are using higher ISO settings your photos will drop in quality very rapidly. In fact, if you are intending on using ISO3200, you may find that the camera will take pictures of worse quality than a cell phone camera.
Sony Cybershot DSC-S950 ReviewOne other small issue is that the camera does not come with a Carl-Zeiss lens. Almost all of Sony's cameras do and I have used many Sony's in the past that came with one. When I received this one, I just assumed it also had one. It was a pretty big surprise to find out that it didn't come with one. Sure, I could have paid a little bit and got one. However, I could have just put that money towards a camera that was a little bit better quality and received one as well. It just did not make sense that this is one of the few Sony's that did not include such a lens.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this camera to anyone looking to take high quality pictures without having to spend too much for a camera. I am using mine alongside a 8GB Memory Card, this holds roughly 1900 pictures at full resolution. It will also hold about 5.5 hours worth of video which I have been finding more use for here recently.

Digital Camera Review- 7MP Compacts
Last week we went on a hike up one of the local trails in Lake Tahoe. I left the SLR at home and brought my compact digital camera along. Half way up the mountain we encountered a bear. I got the camera out and captured a couple of photos before he ran off into the woods.
When I got home, I zoomed in and cropped the picture but the image turned out too pixelated. My 2 year old digicam didn't have enough pixels to go around. The higher your cameras resolution, the more flexibility you have later editing your image. So now I've been shopping for a new compact digicam with at least 7 mega pixels. Here are my 5 top picks.
1) Casio Exilim EP-Z750 Digital Camera Review
Digital Camera Review- 7MP CompactsThe 7.2MP EP-Z750 is the smallest, lightest and thinnest camera in the group. It doesn't look big enough to have 7.2 mega pixels but it does! The back of the camera is almost all LCD screen, 2.5" worth, it's extra large, ideal for composing and viewing your shots. It has a 3x zoom with anti-shake and 30 scene modes compared to the usual 8 or 12 on most digicams, plus you can make up your own too. Being this small you would figure that there couldn't possibly be any manual controls, but you'd be wrong. The EP-Z750 has aperture, shutter priority and full manual settings which are all quick and easy to navigate. You get the hang of it real quickly. The quality of the photos you take with the Casio Exilim are surprisingly excellent with dynamic colors. The Casio Exilim Ep-Z750 view finder is quite small, thank you for the big LCD screen. It's got a quality 640x480 movie mode at 30 frames per second. Weight 4.5 oz.
2) Nikon Coolpix 7900 Digital Camera Review
The 7.1MP Coolpix 7900 is small, light and easy to use and like the Casio camera reviewed above, can be considered an ultra compact. It's large, bright 2" LCD display is perfectly visible outdoors in the sun. Unlike the Casio, it has a bulge where the battery goes forming a grip which makes it easy to hold. But that adds to its overall thickness. The Nikon Coolpix 7900 has a 3x optical zoom, a large battery capacity for taking hundreds of pictures, and a good flash. 640x480 movies at a full 30fps and Nikon's new Face Priority autofocus will automatically detect a face in the portrait and focus on it. The Coolpix has D-Lighting that lightens the dark areas. Somehow they also found room to squeeze in vibration reduction. The Nikon 7900 uses scene modes and there's one for almost every occasion, they're easy to use and work very well. The 7900 doesn't have manual control. The Nikon Coolpix 7900 is a small easy to use point and shoot camera with high-resolution. Weight 5.3oz
3) Canon PowerShot SD550 Digital Camera Review
The 7.1MP SD550 is an attractive, lightweight, thin, ultra-compact unit with an extra large 2.5" LCD screen and optical viewfinder. It uses 13 shooting modes including auto and manual. The PowerShot has a 3x zoom, equivalent to 37-111mm. This camera is fast! Shooting 2 photos per second till you use up all your memory. The speed of the auto focus is also significantly improved over earlier ELPH's. Canon has put the new DIGIC II Processor in and its images are excellent. The movie mode is 640x480 at a nice 30 frames per second. Of course it's PictBridge compatible and has a good flash. This is a solid performer with point and shoot ease. The Canon SD500, the SC550's sibling is the same camera for less with a 2" LCD screen. Weight 6.08oz.
4) Olympus C-7000 Zoom Digital Camera Review
The 7.1MP, C-7000 is a very good looking compact digital camera with solid performance. Zoom is in the name, because this beauty has a 5x optical zoom, and a 6x digital zoom with the 35mm camera equivalency of a 39mm-190mm lens. This makes getting candid people shots easier, you don't need to get as close to your subject, just use your zoom to get in. The Olympus C-7000 Zoom has a large 2" LCD that is excellent even outside. You're not going to make a feature length movie with it however, because it takes 20 second clips at 30fps. The pop-up flash works good and easy to read menus make the C-7000 fairly easy to navigate. It has the new Olympus TruePic Turbo Image Processor for fast cycle times and excellent details. The C-7000 Zoom has 11 shooting modes plus manual operation. It's PictBridge Compatible for easy printing without a computer. This little Oly is tough to beat with it's powerful zoom, small size and high resolution. Weight 7.07oz
5) Sony CyberShot DSC-W7 Digital Camera Review
The 7.2 MP DSC-W7 is bigger than the ultra compact Casio Exilim its considered a compact digital camera. In traditional Sony style, this small camera is well thought out and easy to use everyday. Its got a viewfinder and a really big 2.5" LCD display that's nice for viewing and composing your shots. The 3x optical zoom lens is a Carl Zeiss equivalent to a 28-114mm lens. No expensive batteries to buy ever, it comes with 2 AA rechargeable batteries. The Sony CyberShot has an extremely quick start up time and fast recycle time. The DSC-W7 uses the memory stick format and has a an internal memory of 32MB. A manual mode with aperture and shutter speed controls with a photo exposure preview. Your also hooked up with an excellent movie mode with good sound just what you'd expect from Sony. The Sony CyberShot DSC-W7 is a very nice camera that takes good hi-resolution pictures and is easy to use. Weight 6.90 0z.
You will notice that I haven't put any prices here, because they seem to change by the day. Check our site for up-to-date price comparisons. Even pros have circumstances when a compact digicam is appropriate. These digicams are for everybody. Make your choice based on features that fit your shooting style. You will love the photos from all the cameras here. Spend the little bit extra on a 7MP camera and always use the highest resolution setting your camera has, because every picture you take is worth more than money.

Sony Ericsson W995 Review
Sony Ericsson Walkman series phones are famous for their outstanding acoustic quality, but the strict market boundary effectively limits their market share. However, the manufacturer hasn't stopped pushing the envelope when it comes to high end phones, and the w995 is no exception.
Sony Ericsson W995's appearance has some rigid elements as the Sony Ericsson W705 does, but the edge is rather soft and mellow. It features a metallic shell with wiredrawing surface and is 15mm thick, which gives a high quality impression that belongs to flagship phones.
This Walkman phone has amazing shotting function with an 8 Mega Pixel camera packed in it. It inherits Sony Ericsson phones' characteristic - light weight. The Sony Ericsson W995 measures 97 x 49 x 15mm which is compact enough to fit in any pocket or purse and weighs 113g.The friendly size and weight are best appreciated in comparison with other 8 megapixel cameraphones in the Sony Ericsson portfolio. The Sony Ericsson W995 comes in three colors - Progressive Black, Cosmic Silver and Energetic Red. All of them look quite nice, and the red one is particularly eye-catching. .
Sony Ericsson W995 ReviewThe Walkman key of the Sony Ericsson W995 is on the left side which grants access to the Walkman player and is used for Shake control. While the Fast Port connector and the "M2" symbol lay on the left-hand side.
The music-control key and M2 expansion slot tell this is a typical music phone; the camera key on the right and digital zoom bar rank this Walkman phone into Cyber-short range. These shortcut buttons are not only a perfect combination of music and camera, but also they bring convenient operation.
The Sony Ericsson W995 is equipped with a set of stereo speakers, placed at the top and bottom of the handset. As expected by all, the Sony Ericsson W995 finally packs a 3.5mm headphone jack. Usually in-ear HPM-77 is offered, but sometimes in some markets it is HPM-88 with sound noise reduction effect offered. Considering Nokia N82 which has 3.5mm audio jack doesn't have ideal audio quality, it takes time to say if these accessories have outstanding music effect on Sony Ericsson W995.
The external dual speakers, two at each end, are very loud and provided decent sound which seems to become Walkman Series standard equipment.
Another special feature is the kickstand on the rear of the set. With the companion of dual stereo speakers, it will provide an ideal effect for viewing movies on the go. Different from that of Nokia N96, its widest angle could be as much as 180 degree. So with a string circling through it you can hang the phone around your neck.
The Sony Ericsson comes with a 2.6-inch display which delivers sharp and vivid images at QVGA resolution that are easy to see even under direct sunlight.
Though Walkman 4.0 has not been announced yet, you will not be disappointed at this high-end Walkman phone. It features all Sony Ericsson's music functions. Apart from a variety of music files and FM radio, it has Clear Audio Experience, SensMe, Shake Control, TrackID, and other equalizers. Besides, Media Go, brand new multimedia management software, is packed in this device.
This phone is also the first to incorporate the MediaGo software which allows much easier cooperation between the handset and other Sony products.
The most impressive thing about this phone lies in the shooting function, Which offers a wide range of features as autofocus, face detection, digital zoom, stabilizer, continuous shooting, BestPic, PhotoFix, etc However, it is not a Cyber-shot phone anyway. It doesn't offer a smile shutter or Xenon light. Only an ordinary LED light is equipped for shooing at night or in inadequate light. The image quality of the W995 snapper is just adequate.
As for other functions, they don't have much difference from Sony Ericsson C905's. It supports GDM/GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA/HSDPA and WLAN, as well as A-GPS, Google Map, Tracker, Wayfinder Navigator. It is absolutely competent for daily use.
Though not equipped with 8GB memory as rumors said, Sony Ericsson W995 embraces 118MB memory and a M2 card for expansion. Sony Ericsson is very generous to offer an 8GB card for storage of multimedia files and pictures of high resolution.
Overall, Sony Ericsson has reached the top for a music phone. Large display, 8.1 MP camera, WLAN, HSDPA, 3.5mm audio jack, dual speaker and desk stand... all of them are packed in Sony Ericsson W995 - a flagship music phone.
